Brief Description

The National Gender Policy (2021-2026) draws from the 2006 National Gender Policy, and it emphasizes gender equity and includes specific strategies for preventing and addressing gender-based violence (GBV). One key component is the integration of GBV prevention into Nigeria’s education, health, and social service sectors. The objective is to provide a comprehensive framework for gender equality and ensure the mainstreaming of GBV prevention across all government sectors. The Policy is comprehensive and covers all aspects of GBV as relates to the country.
